My gigabit service with Suddenlink is fast, reliable, and very expensive. Small price increases are common and relatively frequent. My $90 plan from about 18 months ago is now $144. They recently ran a special with "Gigabit Internet for $75/month for life." But of course as a loyal, long-time customer (8+ years!), that special was not available to me. Stellar customer care like AT&T's current initiatives that make deals available to new AND existing customers is more than rare - it's practically unheard of. Until there is true local competition, the Suddenlink price hikes and existing-customers-are-an-afterthought model will remain the standard. And to advertise a price that's half of what I pay and prohibit my access to it is the ultimate slap in the face. Good news? A couple of fiber providers are currently building local infrastructures. No doubt the price hikes will become more frequent as Suddenlink milks me as much as possible in anticipation of losing my service.
